Rick brings nearly 20 years of leadership and business experience to Bluewater Advisory. He approaches his work from an operator’s perspective, with a highly relational style that helps leaders gain clarity and accountability while thinking more deeply about the day-to-day challenges they face. He also contributes to BWA’s growth by developing relationships and identifying opportunities to expand Bluewater’s reach in the business community.

His perspective was shaped working closely with entrepreneurial, owner-led companies, where growth brought both opportunity and complexity and where leadership decisions and communication had an immediate impact on people, performance, and the business as a whole.

Rick spent the majority of his career with IAG Performance, an internationally recognized automotive parts manufacturer, ultimately serving as Vice President for his final 10 years. As the company expanded, his responsibilities broadened with it, giving him exposure to nearly every dimension of the organization. Working closely with ownership and management through periods of growth and change gave him a practical understanding of what it takes to lead effectively when the answers are not always obvious and the stakes are real.

Following his time at IAG, Rick began advising local business owners and leadership teams independently. Stepping outside a single organization allowed him to apply what he had learned in new environments and confirmed where he is most engaged and energized professionally: alongside leaders, asking thoughtful questions, fostering greater communication, and helping bring clarity to complex situations. During that progression, Rick was introduced to Bluewater’s award-winning training programs, first as a student, then as an observer, and eventually as a facilitator helping lead others. He is a “Promotor” by nature and serves as an advocate and relationship-manager of our professional development programs in addition to producing social media content.

Rick lives in Westminster, Maryland, with his fiancée, Steph, and their two dogs, Loki and Boo. Outside of work, he and Steph enjoy traveling, and Rick is happiest when he can spend time outdoors near the water or in the mountains.
